Great opportunity in energy project!
At Grafton Group, we are looking for a talented Environmental Engineer for an important energy company located in Las Condes.
Our client: Chinese company, leader at the forefront of innovation in the energy sector. Pride on their commitment to excellence, sustainability and creating solutions that drive a brighter future. The project consists of a 1500 kms transmission line to be developed in the north of Chile.
Objectives:
Lead the project's environmental management.
1. Environmental Impact Assessments: Conduct assessments to evaluate the potential environmental effects of proposed projects and develop mitigation strategies to minimize negative impacts.
2. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that organizations comply with environmental regulations and laws, including waste management, emissions standards, and land use requirements.
3. Site Remediation: Design and implement remediation plans for contaminated sites, including groundwater, soil, and sediment cleanup.
4. Pollution Prevention: Develop strategies to reduce waste and pollution at the source, promoting sustainable practices within organizations.
5. Environmental Monitoring: Use various methods and tools to monitor environmental conditions, such as air and water quality, and assess the effectiveness of pollution control measures.
6. Sustainability Projects: Plan and manage projects aimed at developing sustainable practices, such as renewable energy installations, resource conservation programs, and eco-friendly construction practices.
7. Public Engagement: Communicate with stakeholders and the public about environmental concerns, project impacts, and sustainability practices to promote awareness and cooperation.
8. Research and Development: Conduct research to develop innovative technologies and methods for environmental protection, waste treatment, and resource management.
9. Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze environmental data and prepare reports detailing findings, compliance status, and recommendations for action.
10. Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs for employees and stakeholders on environmental policies, best practices, and compliance requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor degree in environmental engineer
- At least 5 years working experience in environmental management in electrical construction projects, power system or industrial and civil construction field (large scale)
Familiar with various PAS (permit) applications in the early stage of the project and the environmental management of the project site during the project construction
- Chilean HSEC (SSO) standards (Transelec, CEN) local large construction units and other related companies working experience is preferred.
- English advanced required
- Driver license class B
Offices are located in Las Condes, Santiago (metro Escuela Militar)

Availability to travel to the north if required
